" I want to show everybody, I want to hand out Polaroids on the street, I want to have Katie on the tv 24/7, all the time lol" | Duluth boudoir interview with Katie

katie L Blog 4.jpg

How old were you at your session?A Fresh 28

katie L Blog 1.jpg

What made you decide to book a session?
It's something I've wanted to do for years! A last minute session opened up right after I had just said my resolution is to stop saying no to myself. Cheers to a great start

katie L Blog 2.jpg

What was originally holding you back from booking a session?
I always thought about what else I could spend the money on. I'm a very frugal person so it just seemed like I needed to spend my money on "responsible" things. Isn't taking care of yourself the responsible thing to do?! (See what I did there? Lol I'm an idiot)

katie L Blog 3.jpg

What were you most nervous about for your session?
Honestly? How my skin would show up. From the pictures you can tell but I have four different types of skin diseases and I didn't want that to show through. I've also got crazy amounts of stretch marks from all the steroids I've used over the years so I was really aware of those. Jes assured me NO ONE would be looking at them.

katie L Blog 5.jpg

How did you feel about yourself before your session?
Having been through all of that, I'm actually a pretty confident person! You learn to put a lot of your doubt and insecurities away and just take life head on. It's too short not to like yourself.

katie L Blog 6.jpg

Describe your experience.
Amazing? Phenomenal? Phantasmagoric? Jes and Emily are more incredible than words can describe. They spend their day making you feel so good about yourself and damn if they aren't the best at it. Emily and I bonded over hair and make up, Jes and I bonded over dat booty, the rest is history! I want to hang out with them all the time! Their personalities are amazing and they make you feel so comfortable that you can't wait to get naked.

katie L Blog 7.jpg

How did you feel about yourself after your session?
Like I could do anything in the world! I went to the post office and thought, "yeah look at me mailing this right now, I'm so good at this!" A mundane task like mailing a passport felt so empowering. I still feel empowered. I should also note tbat ues, my husband did take me on a dare and couldn't keep his hands off me.

katie L Blog 8.jpg

Were you nervous before your viewing session?Oh my god yes!!!

How did you feel about yourself after seeing your photos?
Like the sexiest woman alive! Like I belonged on the cover of People Magazine for all the right reasons. I want to show everybody, I want to hand out Polaroids on the street, I want to have Katie on the tv 24/7, all the time lol

katie L Blog 9.jpg

What were your favorite products?Platinum album, the viewmaster, the heirloom boxes. Am I not allowed to say all of them?

katie L Blog 10.jpg

What would you tell anyone interested, but maybe hesitant, in book a session of their own?
What are you waiting for?! I grew up self conscious about my body, I've had severe eczema since the day I was born, I'm frugal as hell... just this once, throw it all to the wind! Let everything go and revel in everything you are! You are an amazing, beautiful woman - don't believe me? See for yourself.

katie L Blog 11.jpg

How was working with Jes and Emily?
Oh my god, yes please!! All day every day. They are more amazing than I could ever say. They make you feel so confident and comfortable, you laugh the whole time, they tell you how good your butt looks, what else do you need?!

katie L Blog 12.jpg

Will you be doing another session? You couldn't stop me!!

katie L Blog 13.jpg

Anything else you want to add?
I just really want to thank Jes and Emily. I know I've already said it, but it was one of my best days. Truly. I only wish that I could positively impact women's lives the way they do. I had never been in front of a professional camera and they made me feel like a natura. They showered me with love and reassurance even though the barely knew me. You two mean more to us than we could ever say. I cant wait to see you ladies again

"Although it's an investment, it's an investment in yourself, and all of us women deserve that!" | Duluth Boudoir Interview with Alyssa

Alyssa BLog 4.jpg

How old were you at your session?25

Alyssa BLog 2.jpg

What made you decide to book a session?
I wanted to book because I had had a baby within the last year and a half and really wanted something that would make me feel as sexy and confident as I had felt before him.

Alyssa BLog 3.jpg

What was originally holding you back from booking a session?
I think, as most people probably answer I was little worried about the investment that it would take to get these pictures done. But, I am so glad I went through with it. The investment is worth it for the beauty and confidence you get from each picture.

Alyssa BLog 1.jpg

What were you most nervous about for your session?
I think I was nervous that my body wouldn't photograph the way I wanted it to. I love my body and am proud of what it did for me in creating my favorite human in the entire world. But with pregnancy comes change, so I was worried that even though I love my body when I'm thinking about it, I thought maybe I wouldn't love it as much when I actually saw it through someone else's eyes.

Alyssa BLog 5.jpg

How did you feel about yourself before your session?
I felt really excited! And I did feel beautiful, but like I said there was definitely a bit of uncertainty that comes with it all. I was proud of myself for doing the session and putting myself out there, but it took getting the photos for all those good feelings to come 360.

Alyssa BLog 6.jpg

Describe your experience.
The experience is unlike anything you will do. I have done boudoir before, but this is a truly unique experience. It all starts with getting your outfits selected. It's so much fun to pick things out and show the girls like they are just your best friends in the whole world, even though you just met ;) Then, you get to get all glammed up with Emily, and she does such an amazing job matching your make up to your personality and your wants. From there, they make sure that you are ready to put yourself out there by making you feel like a queen. Taking the pictures with Jes never got awkward once. All of her comments about how beautiful you are does nothing but amp you and make your pictures go to a whole new level. Not to mention how beautiful all their pieces of lingerie are and their amazing furniture.

Alyssa BLog 7.jpg

How did you feel about yourself after your session?
Gorgeous as ever! It was so much fun, and although I was sore as all heck, I felt like I had the most energy I had had in a while. You leave with a high! It's the most amazing experience.

Were you nervous before your viewing session?A little.

Alyssa BLog 9.jpg

How did you feel about yourself after seeing your photos?
Even better! Like I said, I was afraid to see my body in pictures post-baby. But, it didn't disappoint. They make you look like you could be doing this for a living. Between the lighting detail in each picture, the pose, etc, you end up looking like a model, and I can't be more thankful for these girls doing that for this mama.

Alyssa BLog 10.jpg

What were your favorite products?I got the Cochin collection, and I'm glad I did. I get to have a book to look through when I'm needing a pick-me-up, but I also got print credit so I could hang my beauty in my house to remind me every day.

Alyssa BLog 11.jpg

What would you tell anyone interested, but maybe hesitant, in book a session of their own?
You need to do it!! Simple as that!! You deserve this.

Alyssa BLog 12.jpg

How was working with Jes and Emily?
They are the best!! I sound like a broken record in saying how much I love these girls, but they are the most talented, kind people I've been around in a long time. It is such a breath of fresh air to be around their personalities.

Alyssa BLog 13.jpg

Will you be doing another session?I want to already!!

Alyssa BLog 14.jpg

Anything else you want to add?
Just don't hold yourself back from doing something that will make you feel the best you've felt in a while. Although it's an investment, it's an investment in yourself, and all of us women deserve that!

"It is such a great investment in yourself. It is therapeutic and truly good for your soul." | Second Duluth Boudoir Interview with Melissa

Melissa night blog 22.jpg

How old were you at your session?30

Melissa night blog 18.jpg

What made you decide to book a session?
I was selected for the boudie call! I decided to apply because the night session was so different from what I was used to. It was out of my comfort zone, but I was so excited to try something new. And I knew the photos would be amazing no matter what.

Melissa night blog 24.jpg

What was originally holding you back from booking a session?
This was my second session but I still felt like I should lose weight or spend money on something else before I booked again.

Melissa night blog 19.jpg

What were you most nervous about for your session?
I was nervous that I wouldn't be able to pull off the sexy looks. I'm more of a shy, girl next door type.

Melissa night blog 20.jpg

How did you feel about yourself before your session?
Eh, okay. Same insecurities that everyone has. It's something I'm constantly working on.

Melissa night blog 23.jpg

Describe your experience.
When I showed up Emily greeted me with a big smile and showed me all of the amazing outfits they selected for my shoot. Jes came in and helped narrow down the options then Emily started on hair and makeup. After that we picked the first outfit and started shooting. I felt awkward sometimes, but I knew that I was in good hands with Jes. I just focused on letting go and enjoying every freaking second of it! Before I knew it we were on the last outfit and it was time to go home.

Melissa night blog 25.jpg

How did you feel about yourself after your session?
Amazing! I felt like I Beyonce, lol. Seriously though, it's such an empowering experience. I was on cloud 9.

Melissa night blog 26.jpg

Were you nervous before your viewing session? Not at all!

Melissa night blog 2.jpg

How did you feel about yourself after seeing your photos?
I can't even describe how happy I am. I saw my slideshow yesterday and still can't wipe the smile off my face. I can't believe how beautiful and sexy these photos are, that they're of me! My husband tells me all the time, but it's hard to see for yourself. I see it now, and I love it.

Melissa night blog 1.jpg

What were your favorite products? The platinum box is absolutely stunning but wasn't the best option for me personally. I went with the 8x8 album that will match the one from my first session.

Melissa night blog 3.jpg

What would you tell anyone interested, but maybe hesitant, in book a session of their own?
Stop waiting for "the right time" and just do it! I know that it's a little intimidating, I've definitely been there, but I have never regretted this and can't wait for my next one. If you're insecure with yourself or don't think you can pull it off, that's the exact reason why you should do it. It is such a great investment in yourself. It is therapeutic and truly good for your soul.

Melissa night blog 4.jpg

How was working with Jes and Emily?
Fan-freaking-tastic! I love these ladies so much. They are just brimming with positivity and work so hard to make the whole experience effortless and enjoyable. You really feel like you're hanging with your besties. They have perfected the balance between professionalism and friendliness with their clients.

Melissa night blog 5.jpg

Will you be doing another session?Duh

Melissa night blog 7.jpg

Anything else you want to add?
I know it's cheesy, but I just wanted to say thank you. To Jes, Emily, and all the ladies in the Facebook group. It's amazing to have so many people supporting each other and lifting them up instead of dragging them down. You make the world a better place!

"Everything about working with Jes was better, and felt better, and when I saw my pictures, I cried." | Duluth Boudoir Interview with Poly

poly bridal blog 4.jpg

Five years ago I went through the biggest heart break of my life. I was left in a place I never thought I would be. I felt small, not good enough, insignificant. It shattered me to the core and highly impacted the way I saw myself as a woman. It was then that one of my friends told me I should have a boudoir session. I swear I thought she was high for even saying something so outrageous. However it sparked something in me, and a few months later, not really feeling like I was ready for it, I had my first session. I left the session feeling like a spark had been lit inside of me. And when I saw the pictures, it was like all this confidence had just poured all over me. I decided that day Boudoir was something I would do every year for my birthday, as a gift for MYSELF. A reminder that I AM ENOUGH. I reminder that I am a woman who doesn't NEED a man, even if I choose to be with one.

Four years into it and my confidence was as high as it had ever been, despite being four years older, and as I looked at my past sessions I started wishing for something more. Don't get me wrong, the photos were pretty, but they were lacking a higher level of sexiness that I just really wanted to see in my pictures. And that's pretty much when I started seeing Jes' work. It was exactly what I was looking for! She took everything to the next level, and seemed to always push herself to be better and better. My first session with her I brought my own lingerie, and almost felt foolish after seeing her closet. Needless to say I did not wear my things. I went through hair and makeup, then had so much fun during the session. Everything about working with Jes was better, and felt better, and when I saw my pictures, I cried. They were perfect!

I had my second session with Jes and Emily, and already have my third booked for August, when I'll turn 32, and I honestly couldn't be more pumped! There are no reservations because I know Jes really knows what she's doing, and I know it will keep being a confidence booster, and a reminder that I AM ENOUGH.

" I have never been more confident in myself and more grateful to women who raise others up and help them reach their full potential." | Duluth Boudoir Interview with Natalie

How old were you at your session?26

What made you decide to book a session?
I am a second shooter for my fiance who is a videographer and I have seen a few brides give books of boudoir photos as gifts to their husband on their wedding day. I loved the idea and my guy was all for it too:)

What was originally holding you back from booking a session?
I was not sure it was the right time. I have two year old twins and I was always waiting until I was thinner or fitter.

Natalie blog 8.jpg

What were you most nervous about for your session?
I was nervous about everything! I was nervous that I would look bad. I was nervous that I would not be able to get comfortable enough to take good pictures. I was nervous that I would make weird faces or blink in every picture. I was nervous to be naked. I was nervous about not being able to pose well

Natalie blog 9.jpg

How did you feel about yourself before your session?
This past year I have been working hard to feel better about myself. I think booking the session before I had time to get "perfect" or thin or fit was a big step for me.

Describe your experience.
I showed up and it was a gorgeous location. So pretty. I felt like how can my pictures be bad when this room looks so good?! I started out picking my outfits and it was a blast! The closet they have is INSANE. I am being completely serious when I say that if I had that closet, I would never wear real clothes again. From there I went into hair and makeup and it was super fun having it done and then getting to see the big reveal. My makeup was way better than I expected and my hair was way bigger than I ever dreamed it could be. I felt amazing! During the shoot Jes was so helpful in posing me and making me feel comfortable. It took about two poses and seeing that I looked good even though I felt like I was doing weird faces, to get me completely out of my shell. After that I just had so much fun. By the end I felt amazing and I was just super pumped to see the pictures.

How did you feel about yourself after your session?
I felt SEXY. Coming home looking fierce was super fun. My fiance and I went on a date and I just felt so good.

Were you nervous before your viewing session?A little.

Natalie blog 6.jpg

How did you feel about yourself after seeing your photos?
I was shocked honestly. I had a little bit of time to doubt myself and I was not super sure how good I would look. But, when I saw my pictures I was stunned. I looked better than I knew I could. I loved my posing and makeup and everything, even how much fun I had, showed in the photos. It was and is so hard not to show my fiance before the wedding!!!

What were your favorite products?I love the big photo book.

Natalie blog 3.jpg

What would you tell anyone interested, but maybe hesitant, in book a session of their own?
Everyone has issues. Just this year, I have finally started dealing with past trauma that caused me to be fearful and ashamed of my sexuality. I am also a mom of twin toddlers, so not only do I have body changes from pregnancy, but I just generally do not live a very sexy life. This experience has been cathartic for me. I felt so safe during my session and so supported on the VIP group. I have never been more confident in myself and more grateful to women who raise others up and help them reach their full potential.

How was working with Jes and Emily?
You mean my new best friends? Uh, great! They are hilarious. You cannot feel uncomfortable around them. They are supportive and they make the process super fun.

Will you be doing another session?I hope so!!!!

Natalie blog 14.jpg

Anything else you want to add?
Do it. You know you want to. What is the worst thing that could happen? You fart during a booty pose? (I was secretly nervous this would happen!) It is going to be the best thing you have done for yourself and your significant other will love it too.

"I felt connected again, like it was a rebirthing of my confidence" | Duluth Boudoir Interview with Jessica

jessica blog 1.jpg

How old were you at your session?32

What made you decide to book a session?
I had images done years ago by Jes. I had such a great time then. I had been feeling "blah" lately and was having a hard time excepting my post baby body after my 3rd daughter. After seeing Jes do her post baby budoir shoot and talking to her....she talked me into It!

jessica blog 4.jpg

What was originally holding you back from booking a session?
My insecurities

jessica blog 2.jpg

What were you most nervous about for your session?
EVERYTHING! Being exposed was my biggest fear.

jessica blog 5.jpg

How did you feel about yourself before your session?
Not great. Not awful. I started my journey of self love, and personal development a couple months before my shoot. I knew this was the final piece to get my confidence back in my body.

Describe your experience.
It was fantastic! Awkward at first, but within 20 minutes you almost forget you are in next to nothing! Jes and Emily seriously are amazing at lifting women up, they have a gift! They were so encouraging! Jes styled the looks I picked out perfectly! I feel they were totally me! They fit my personality, which I love! She also walked me through each pose step by step.

jessica blog 7.jpg

How did you feel about yourself after your session?
The biggest thing I felt was exhausted but at the same time recharged! It was the oddest most amazing feeling. I felt connected again, like it was a rebirthing of my confidence. It really is hard to explain the exact feeling!

Were you nervous before your viewing session?Absolutely, I almost threw up.

jessica blog 9.jpg

How did you feel about yourself after seeing your photos?
OMG! I couldn't even believe It! I absolutely loved the images, and so did my husband! I wish I would have recorded his face when I showed him the images, his jaw dropped! I actually just the other day decided to weigh myself....which I don't do often because I don't really believe in scales. But I decided to because I felt I had lost weight. I step on the scale, and nope not one pound lost but I felt soooo good! It was the negative thoughts, poor body image, and low self esteem that I had shed, but not one physical pound. I thought that was so cool!

jessica blog 11.jpg

What would you tell anyone interested, but maybe hesitant, in book a session of their own?
Do it, book it NOW!

How was working with Jes and Emily?
The best!

jessica blog 13.jpg

Will you be doing another session?Absolutely

jessica blog 14.jpg

Anything else you want to add?
I love you ladies!

"I couldn't, not in 100 years, believe that was my body." | Duluth Boudoir Interview with Meghan

Meghan Blog 4.jpg

How old were you at your session?26

Meghan Blog 3.jpg

What made you decide to book a session?
Being a part of the online community via Facebook and Instagram, I became comfortable seeing boudoir photos. We're so often lead to believe, that as women, we shouldn't honor our bodies with something like a boudoir session. When I started seeing the beauty in everyone's photos, I felt I deserved the same, so I booked one!

Meghan Blog 5.jpg

What was originally holding you back from booking a session?
Fear that people would judge me (and even typing that feels wrong because I know it doesn't matter.) Fear that my body wouldn't portray what I wanted or perceived.

Meghan Blog 1.jpg

What were you most nervous about for your session?
I was nervous I would get there and there wouldn't be anything for me to wear or in my size. I kept trusting that there would be because Jes and Emily are constantly reassuring us they do have every size in mind which is 100% true. I ended up bringing 2 outfits of my own and I wouldn't have needed them; there was so much to pick from.

Meghan Blog 2.jpg

How did you feel about yourself before your session?
I have super mixed feelings on this question. First, I had weight loss surgery recently, so I've lost a lot of weight very quickly so my mind has had trouble keeping up. I was so proud of what my body has accomplished that I was pumped. There was also a little part of me that wanted to "call in sick" the morning of my session because I hadn't lost an unrealistic amount of weight before my session. When I got there, none of that mattered. Emily and Jes saw me.

Describe your experience.
Well, it was very rainy and drizzly on the day of my shoot, but the weather didn't deter the quality of my photos. Yes, they do have sultry, darker feel to them, but I love it and rain or shine, your photos will be amazing through their windows. I walked into the studio which looks way different than I pictured in my mind. There is a seating area where you get to place your things and Emily greeted me with music playing. She ran through the events I was about to experience: take my time choosing outfits privately. They had made sure there was a large rack with many, many options for me to peruse. Hair/makeup next. Emily really took into consideration the look I wanted and was so funny and conversational. I felt totally at ease and not a bit nervous for the look she gave me. She created a lip color all for me and it was perfect. Then, Jes works her magic and makes you work hard for the money haha no joke the poses were extensive and there's just a lot happening but she really knows what she's doing let me tell you. What I loved was when I put on my first outfit, she posed me and snapped some photos. Obviously very nerve wracking BUT Jes ranted and raved and even showed me a sneak peek. This really made me feel so much more confident moving forward.

Meghan Blog 6.jpg

How did you feel about yourself after your session?
Strong, confident, powerful.

Meghan Blog 9.jpg

Were you nervous before your viewing session?Yes and No! Excited!

Meghan Blog 11.jpg

How did you feel about yourself after seeing your photos?
I couldn't, not in 100 years, believe that was my body Yes, I have body parts I don't particularly love and yes, I have softer curves after having a baby and nursing BUT Jes accentuated all of it.

Meghan Blog 12.jpg

What were your favorite products? They're all to die for. The accordian books are so unique---discreet enough to casually pull out at any occasion to show people your magnificence :)

Meghan Blog 15.jpg

What would you tell anyone interested, but maybe hesitant, in book a session of their own?
Honor yourself and your body. A woman is an amazing being.. I am so proud of what my body has done as a woman and this was a way to celebrate all of that. We all, as women, have every right to celebrate just that fact you are a woman!

Meghan Blog 13.jpg

How was working with Jes and Emily?
Like hanging out with my friends--so professional and respectful yet so fun. Just the right balance. I have a few very genuine laughing photos because Jes is so funny while shooting you at times. Emily is an open book--she was so kind and welcoming. SO much warmth in that studio!
