"I can honestly say my view of myself has improved in a way I didn't expect." || Duluth Boudoir Interview with Mollie

How Old Were You At Your Session? Twenty nine

What made you decide to book a session? I entered the Boudie-call for models without much knowledge of boudoir or the studio. I have spent a lot of hours on my tattoo collection and one of the things listed in the Boudie-call was for alternative styling/tattoos. I decided to write a little bit about myself and my current journey into self love while managing my depression. I figured boudoir was a good test of my self confidence and love if I won. I didn't expect to but I'm super glad I did!

What was originally holding you back from booking a session? I associated it mostly with being a gift for someone else instead of a gift to yourself. I was wrong!

What were you most nervous about for your session? Being around people who didn't know me in such an intimate setting.

How did you feel about yourself before your session? I had been dealing with depression, health issues, and romantic failures for awhile. Things weren't good overall, but due to my work life and relationships I couldn't really show that or process it. The day I applied for my shoot was the same day I made my first phone call to get medical help for my depression. The shoot itself happened 8 weeks after applying and a few days before I finally got into therapy. The time between those days is the start of my recovery and self worth journey. There's a lot of things I felt between them about myself from intimate self love and respect to absolute despair.

Describe your experience. The shoot itself was pretty effortless once I settled on the idea of just making the best of it despite any nerves I had. I personally perform best under pressure in most situations, so once we got rolling I was in the moment and loved it. Any nerves I had were quickly forgotten!

How did you feel about yourself after your session? I didn't think I needed to change how I viewed my own body. I didn't do much negative self speak about my body once I started getting tattoos. This shoot has made me even more comfortable than I used to be! I could see it being very beneficial for anyone no matter how their viewed their own body!

Were you nervous before your viewing session? A little! Seeing yourself almost naked on a screen isn't a normal event for me, so there was some nerves. Once I started seeing them that vanished quickly.

How did you feel about yourself after seeing your photos? I loved the photos. I can honestly say my view of myself has improved in a way I didn't expect. I didn't think I needed to have a better outlook on my body, but it just came with the pictures.

What were your favorite products? My make up was unbelievable. Anything used on my whole face was fantastic.

What would you tell anyone interested, but maybe hesitant, in booking a session of their own? Fuckin DO IT

How was working with Jes, Emily, and Katie? It was awesome meeting them and sharing my story with them in a safe space.

Will you be doing another session? I don't think I'll rush into it, but I think somewhere down the road it'll be fun to compare this session to one where I have more room mentally for fun.

Anything else you want to add? There is power in empowering each other <3
