How old were you at your session? 28
What made you decide to book a session? Doing a boudoir session had been on my bucket list for a long time. I saw that Mad Chicken was running a Black Friday special, so I filled out the form, but couldn't get myself to hit the submit button. I mentioned it to my husband and he said to go for it. (Obviously, what man is gonna say no to getting some incredible pictures of his lady?!) I finally got the nerve one night to submit it. I told myself that the worst that could happen was that I wouldn't be happy with the images and I would just be out the session fee.
What was originally holding you back from booking a session? I would say the my lack of confidence is what held me back. I have never felt comfortable in my own skin, like ever.
What were you most nervous about for your session? I was nervous about finding the right pieces that would look as amazing as some of the pieces that I've seen on Jes's Boudoir page. I have never been one to even wear lingerie for my husband, I wasn't sure how was I going to put on lingerie and look confident at the studio for my session.
How did you feel about yourself before your session? I felt like I was just your average lady. Nothing too special.
Describe your experience. I was so nervous and excited I could barely sleep the night before. I kept telling myself the entire drive up to the studio that I was crazy for doing this. I was greeted by the gorgeous and friendly Emily, that I had met at the Open House party a few months before. She had me try on a few outfits from their incredible closet, but in the final decisions we narrowed it down to the outfits that I had brought. I have nothing but good things to say about Emily, she made me feel comfortable the second I arrived. She's so talented at hair and makeup. I went with a bold rep lip, total opposite of my every day chapstick look. I figured I was already doing this, I might as well go way out of my comfort.
Jes came out and showed me how to pose. She made me feel so comfortable. My nerves calmed and I had so much fun! She showed me a few sneak peaks on her camera during the shoot and I honestly could not believe it. I was shocked at how good they looked!
How did you feel about yourself after your session? I feel incredible! Better than I have ever felt about myself, even if I'm not the size 0 like I used to be.
Now when my husband tells me I am beautiful I don't just laugh in disbelief, I say thank you because I finally feel beautiful. I went into this with the idea that it was going to be just for my husband, James, to have a few pictures of me. Was I wrong. It ended up being 90% for me and 10% for him. This was a life changing experience.
Were you nervous before your viewing session? Kind of
How did you feel about yourself after seeing your photos? I was in shock when I saw the images on the screen. I thought I was going to have one or two great pictures to chose from at that was it, but I loved every single one of them. (Zebra oufit included.)
Even the last time my picture was used in the Black Friday Specials promotion it caught me off guard, and it's been almost a year. I was all smiles when I told my husband about it.
I finally feel good in my skin. Beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, with or without tattoos and body piercings.

How was working with Jes and Emily? Working with Jes and Emily was amazing! What they are doing for the ladies of the Northland is so empowering. I love both of them. I couldn't have asked for a better team.
Will you be doing another session? Yes
Anything else you want to add? I have been working on this survey for about three weeks now, I can't quite put into words just how great of an experience this was. I can't thank Jes and Emily enough for my boudoir experience.
