What made you decide to book a session?
Being a part of the online community via Facebook and Instagram, I became comfortable seeing boudoir photos. We're so often lead to believe, that as women, we shouldn't honor our bodies with something like a boudoir session. When I started seeing the beauty in everyone's photos, I felt I deserved the same, so I booked one!

What was originally holding you back from booking a session?
Fear that people would judge me (and even typing that feels wrong because I know it doesn't matter.) Fear that my body wouldn't portray what I wanted or perceived.

What were you most nervous about for your session?
I was nervous I would get there and there wouldn't be anything for me to wear or in my size. I kept trusting that there would be because Jes and Emily are constantly reassuring us they do have every size in mind which is 100% true. I ended up bringing 2 outfits of my own and I wouldn't have needed them; there was so much to pick from.

How did you feel about yourself before your session?
I have super mixed feelings on this question. First, I had weight loss surgery recently, so I've lost a lot of weight very quickly so my mind has had trouble keeping up. I was so proud of what my body has accomplished that I was pumped. There was also a little part of me that wanted to "call in sick" the morning of my session because I hadn't lost an unrealistic amount of weight before my session. When I got there, none of that mattered. Emily and Jes saw me.

Describe your experience.
Well, it was very rainy and drizzly on the day of my shoot, but the weather didn't deter the quality of my photos. Yes, they do have sultry, darker feel to them, but I love it and rain or shine, your photos will be amazing through their windows. I walked into the studio which looks way different than I pictured in my mind. There is a seating area where you get to place your things and Emily greeted me with music playing. She ran through the events I was about to experience: take my time choosing outfits privately. They had made sure there was a large rack with many, many options for me to peruse. Hair/makeup next. Emily really took into consideration the look I wanted and was so funny and conversational. I felt totally at ease and not a bit nervous for the look she gave me. She created a lip color all for me and it was perfect. Then, Jes works her magic and makes you work hard for the money haha no joke the poses were extensive and there's just a lot happening but she really knows what she's doing let me tell you. What I loved was when I put on my first outfit, she posed me and snapped some photos. Obviously very nerve wracking BUT Jes ranted and raved and even showed me a sneak peek. This really made me feel so much more confident moving forward.

How did you feel about yourself after seeing your photos?
I couldn't, not in 100 years, believe that was my body Yes, I have body parts I don't particularly love and yes, I have softer curves after having a baby and nursing BUT Jes accentuated all of it.

What were your favorite products? They're all to die for. The accordian books are so unique---discreet enough to casually pull out at any occasion to show people your magnificence :)

What would you tell anyone interested, but maybe hesitant, in book a session of their own?
Honor yourself and your body. A woman is an amazing being.. I am so proud of what my body has done as a woman and this was a way to celebrate all of that. We all, as women, have every right to celebrate just that fact you are a woman!

How was working with Jes and Emily?
Like hanging out with my friends--so professional and respectful yet so fun. Just the right balance. I have a few very genuine laughing photos because Jes is so funny while shooting you at times. Emily is an open book--she was so kind and welcoming. SO much warmth in that studio!
