So, here is the think about night sessions. You aren’t going to come into the studio and be put in front of a bunch of professional studio lighting. While I may have a couple of pieces of lighting meant for professional photographers, I am more than likely to find some “weird shit” (as I lovingly call it) to use to light you.
Lamps, flashlights, twinkle lights…. nothing is safe. I even have colored lamps that I can control from my phone. I basically run around for two hours saying “Let’s try this….”
So let’s talk about the images in this post. Obviously, we weren’t in our studio here. We did this session while we were in Toronto, CA. Vicky is the classmates of our mentor, Teri. Since they were in class all day, the only opportunity to photograph this magnificent woman was at night. I brought ZERO lighting with on this trip. This entire session was photographed with ONE LAMP that was in our AirBnb. Thankfully it rotated so we could light her in the apartment AND outside on the freezing balcony.
