How old were you at your session? 30
What made you decide to book a session? I have had multiple friends do sessions and heard nothing but amazing things. As soon as I saw the Black Friday deal, I jumped!
What was originally holding you back from booking a session? Myself... I'm my own worst critic so I was convinced that my fat arms, legs, belly, double chin would be the focus of all the pictures.
What were you most nervous about for your session? I was worried mostly about how my body was going to look to Jes and Emily and how they could possibly have any ideas of how to photograph me because I'm so much bigger than their normal clients. I didn't want to feel judged when I was half naked in front of a camera. Every girl I had ever seen on the site has been flawless - I didn't think it was possible to get even close to their level.
How did you feel about yourself before your session? I didn't like myself. I wanted to understand how anyone could possibly call me beautiful when I was certain I wasn't. I wanted to see myself through the eyes of my boyfriend who calls me beautiful multiple times a day.
Describe your experience. I had a little trouble trying to find a place to park - it was Valentine's Day, and there is a flower shop in the building. Rose pedals led my way into the door. I was greeted with a personal welcome sign and two beautiful smiling faces as I walked in. They had me look at their rack of clothes (hand picked just for me and my size) and try items on. Some things did not fit so I was a little nervous, but I knew I loved the two items I did choose (and then two of my own from home). Getting my hair and makeup done was a little stress reliever after the try on portion. Emily was wonderful and I had a blast chatting with her. It made me feel better when she complimented me as she was doing my makeup, and getting excited about the overall look.
When Jes took over she showed me exactly what she wanted me to do. Hands here, feet like this, try not to do this... So I felt better knowing that she was in control. The pictures were easier as I went through the shoot and I felt more and more relaxed.
How did you feel about yourself after your session? I felt empowered! I felt like I could do anything! I knew that I was in good hands after Jes showed me a couple shots from her camera. I wanted the world to see me and knew that I was never going to let my personality hide from that moment forward. If I can do this, anyone can!
Were you nervous before your viewing session? Yes - I thought I was going to vomit.
How did you feel about yourself after seeing your photos? First it started with a smile on my face the entire time, and by the end I was crying. It all finally made sense! I understood what my boyfriend saw that I hadn't seen before. I didn't notice ANY of the flaws! I learned to love myself in that exact moment and realized these weren't just pictures for my boyfriend - they were inspirational and confidence builders for myself. Yes he is going to love them, but in the end, this was for me.
What were your favorite products? The albums and the wooden box
What would you tell anyone interested, but maybe hesitant, in book a session of their own? Dude... Yes dude... DO IT! You seriously have NOTHING to lose! This was an amazing experience and I can't even express how much it means to me now that I've seen my images. I went from dreading seeing them because I wasn't convinced there would be more than 1 picture I would like to having the hardest time ever narrowing down my pictures to fit into my album!
How was working with Jes and Emily?Amazing. Simply amazing. They are so positive and encouraging and empowering. I honestly cannot say enough about how great they have been to me. THANK YOU!
Will you be doing another session? YES
Anything else you want to add? Next time there will be zero holding back and I'm pretty sure I will be buying the biggest package with everything in it!
